Underground Show 2.26.05

I had a terrific time at the Underground Show last Saturday. Dan Arena was given the entire night to book and he did a good job in finding local talent. Great performances by Rob Melso, Stehanie Hewitt, Untrained Eye (headed by Dan) and Pussywillow and .... (Max and Carl) who both host the Fennario's open mic in West Chester on Wednesday night. I also was given the opportunity to perform my melodic verse. My favorite part of my performance was reciting Dirty Young Hippie to Paul Wilkinsen's (from Untrained Eye) blusey guitar riff and Lisa's enticing background vocals.

If you missed the show, Dan recorded it and Robin Babbington, who was so impressed with the night, is in the process of writing an article in order to share her enthusiasm. Besides my website, melodicverse.com, it will be found on at least 2 other sites and possibly in a local paper.

The Underground is a very inviting venue in the basement of a church on the corner of Church and Bernard Street run by Chris McKenna. The provide a snakc bar with very reasonable snacks and refreshments, couches, TV, pool tables, a large stage and blue walls.

April 30 th will bring many of the same performers opening for Untrained Eye as they celebrate their CD Release party. This band in a very short time have come a long way. I am looking forward to hearing their debue CD which will be recorded in Harrisburg PA.

My 2nd CD entitled This Land is Jeffland is scheduled to be out sometime in April.

I want to thank Dave Metzger for having me as a guest on his radio show on 2/18/05 WCUR-FM. He has invited me to be a guest today. Check out his show which encompasses jazz, blues and all that fits in between every Friday from noon to 2PM.

Gotta go

Take care

Underground Show

The show at the Underground was fantastic. Dan Arena presented some talented local musicians to Chris Mc Kenna, who books this cool spot in West Chester. Rob Melso, Stephanie Hewitt, Untrained Eye and Pussy...... (Max Spiegel and Carl Mazz....a) were all amazing. I was honored to be put on the schedule. Dan recorded the show and will have CD tracks available within the next couple of weeks.

My favorite part of my set was performing Dirty Young Hippie with Paul Wilkinson playing rhythm guitar and Lisa singing backup vocals. It was also cool to have songbird Stephanie Hewitt play guitar to some of my strangest lyrics.

I want to thank Dave Meltzer for having me as a guest on his radio show broadcast from West Chester University WCUR-FM on Friday February 18th. He asked me to return to his show on March 4th which is tomorrow. I will perform 2 or 3 tracks live and Dave may play 1 or 2 off my upcoming CD "This land is Jeffland". His show is from 12 noon to 2PM. He focuses on jazz and blues but all is welcome.

Also, if yuo are a musician in the West Chester area looking for guitar strings, an amp, etc..., check out JD Music newly managed by my friend Joe, who is currently mastering the upcoming CD.
